International Presence

Area Studies and International Development Centers

Scholars in the social, behavioral, and economic sciences community at Michigan State University study a wide variety of problems from a global perspective. International area studies centers were established to promote collaboration in the exploration of specific issues in a given geographic region of the world. Area studies centers encourage graduate and undergraduate instruction and research, link faculty across campus, develop and coordinate programs (including curricula for specialized study), and create forums for scholarly discussion.
