The Center for Advanced Study of International Development

The Center for Advanced Study of International Development (CASID) promotes and coordinates the work of faculty and students interested in international development from the perspective of the social sciences and liberal arts. Since 1981, CASID has been designated by the U.S. Department of Education as a National Resource Center for Foreign Language and International Studies.

The center engages in a variety of activities to strengthen undergraduate and graduate instruction, encourage multi-disciplinary research, enhance the quality of scholarship, and disseminate knowledge off-campus—all with a focus on world development issues that cut across geographic areas.
