College of Social Science
Internship Program
Today it is essential for undergraduate students to augment their academic programs with internships and other forms of active learning. By participating in domestic and international internships, students will be better prepared for the world of work and graduate school.
Internships provide opportunities for students to gain practical training in supervised settings where they can explore career choices early, test classroom theory, establish professional contacts, build self confidence, and gain a wide range of work-related skills.
“It was a learning experience from start to finish and it helped me feel great about graduation. I can finally see my future and how my education is going to get me there. I have also made excellent contacts in my field of interest and have networked…. I thought this internship was just going to help me graduate, but it helped me figure out who I am and what I want to do”.
