William Cooke

Director, HRLR

Dr. William N. Cooke is the past Director and Professor at the School of Human Resources and Labor Relations at Michigan State University. He received his PhD from the University of Illinois in 1977 and has been on the faculty at University of Michigan, Purdue University and Wayne State University. His area of expertise is on global HR management and business strategy, integrating high-involvement HR practices with new technologies and management processes, international IR systems and foreign investment, and union-management partnerships. His research has been funded by many foundations, including NSF, the Russell Sage Foundation, and the Rockefeller Foundation. Dr. Cooke has authored several books and numerous articles. He has an extensive experience working directly with HR/LR professionals in the field, has served as a consultant and in advisory positions to over 30 companies, and has directed executive education programs in labor-management relations and negotiations, over the past 30 years.
