I had the pleasure last week to participate in The Governor Jim Blanchard Public Service Forum which hosted James E. Clyburn, Majority Whip in the U.S. House of Representatives at the Wharton Center. The goal of this forum is to provide generations of students, faculty, and the MSU community with the opportunity to see, hear, and learn from national and international leaders, diplomats, and writers.

Resiliency and Hope in the New Semester

Greetings. The fall semester is in full swing. Our beautiful and beloved campus is once again bustling with students, faculty, and staff. Memories are being made, knowledge is being gathered, and we are all taking strides towards a brighter future while enduring many challenges during the pandemic. We always knew, but it is clear now, that Spartans are some of the most resilient people on the planet. We are working together to find ways to keep each other safe, provide a world class education, and foster a healthy community.

Transforming the Human Experience Along The Great Lakes Beloved Coastlines

Record high lake levels, extreme weather and human disturbances have all led to some major challenges along the Great Lakes, including coastal erosion. A group of Michigan State University Social Scientists are working diligently on some cutting edge research and piloting a first of its kind citizen scientist program to help better understand the changing coast.
