MSU honors 18 summer semester graduates, six Social Science students with Board of Trustees' Award for academic excellence, 4.0 GPA

Eighteen Michigan State University summer semester graduates (six of whom are from the College of Social Science) accomplished what many aspire to achieve — a perfect GPA.
During its Oct. 25 meeting, the MSU Board of Trustees presented these graduating seniors with the Board of Trustees’ Award, recognizing their achievement of the highest scholastic average one can receive, a 4.0 GPA.
In addition to being recognized by the Board of Trustees, students also will be acknowledged during their individual commencement ceremonies in December and will receive $1,000 from the university for their accomplishments.
The Social Science students who received recognition are:
- Madeline J. Bolek, who earned a bachelor’s in psychology from the College of Social Science, is a member of the honors college from Traverse City, Michigan.
- Aiden L. Guzman, who earned a bachelor’s in criminal justice from the College of Social Science and is from San Antonio, Texas.
- Tierney E. Janovsky, who earned a bachelor’s in psychology from the College of Social Science and is from Grosse Pointe Farms, Michigan.
- Claire E. Jennings, who earned a bachelor’s in human capital and society from the College of Social Science and is from Birmingham, Michigan.
- Zeyu Li, who earned a bachelor’s in interdisciplinary studies in social science, is a member of the honors college from Chenzhou, China.
- Sophia L. Whitteaker, who earned a bachelor’s in sociology from the College of Social Science and is from Plymouth, Michigan.
