MSU’s Board of Trustees honor 77 fall graduates, seven Social Science students with award for academic excellence

Seventy-seven fall semester graduates, including seven earning a degree from the College of Social Science, accomplished an enviable feat throughout their time at Michigan State University — earning a perfect GPA.
During its Dec. 13 meeting, the MSU Board of Trustees presented the graduating seniors with the Board of Trustees Award, which recognizes and honors their achievement of the highest scholastic average one can receive: a 4.0 GPA.
In addition to the award, the students will also be recognized during their individual commencement ceremonies in December and receive a special cord to adorn their robe.
The Social Science students who received recognition are:
- Sinan Lal, who earned a bachelor’s in economics from the College of Social Science, is a member of the Honors College from Fort Gratiot, Michigan.
- Hannah M. Raymond, who earned a bachelor’s in criminal justice from the College of Social Science, is a member of the Honors College from Pflugerville, Texas.
- Janey R. Salenbien, who earned a bachelor’s in political science-prelaw from the College of Social Science and is from Dundee, Michigan.
- Ava R. Skaff, who earned a bachelor’s in psychology from the College of Social Science and is from Plymouth, Michigan.
- Miguel L. Trevino-Fica, who earned a bachelor’s in psychology from the College of Social Science, is a member of the Honors College from Grand Rapids, Michigan.
- Nicholas W. Wiechec, who earned a bachelor’s in political science from the College of Social Science, is a member of the Honors College from Bay City, Michigan.
- Jenna S. Young, who earned a bachelor’s in psychology from the College of Social Science and is from Frankton, Indiana.
