Social science star employee Shannon Davis wins Jack Breslin Distinguished Staff Award

The College of Social Science is excited to celebrate Shannon Davis, an administrative associate in the Dean's office who has been awarded the Jack Breslin Distinguished Staff Award.

Shannon manages all aspects of the College's Human Resources operations, and does so with the utmost professionalism and positivity.

Her work has earned rave reviews from her colleagues, which were included in the award's announcement. Said one colleague, "Shannon is one of the College’s shining stars and the work product she provides is exceptional. Shannon is more than willing to provide support to anyone on our team and does so with a positive and collegial attitude."

“Those of us in the College of Social Science continue to be amazed at the consistent, appropriate and accurate work-product that Shannon provides. Even though she has a tremendously busy life outside of MSU, she seems to be able to adequately compartmentalize, and while at work, gives more than 110% to the College of Social Science. She does us all proud, and we are truly fortunate to have her," said another.

The Jack Breslin Distinguished Staff Award honors six support staff employees throughout Michigan State university every year. Awardees exemplify what it means to have the "Spartan Spirit," demonstrating an impeccable work ethic and unwavering commitment to the Spartan community.

"I am humbled and incredibly honored to receive this award. I absolutely love what I do and am lucky to have found my calling in Human Resources and training. It is extremely rewarding to lead the Human Resources operations in the College of Social Science," says Shannon.

"It is my goal to minimize the complexity and maximize the efficiency of the HR process so faculty and staff may focus on what is important - shaping the hearts and minds of our students and maintaining high productivity in world-changing research. To be recognized for what I do and my small part of this effort is truly the highlight of my career."
