Michigan State University’s ANDIE LAB (Accountability, Non-Discrimination, Inclusion in Employment) will host the Leadership Accountability in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Conference April 7 & 8 beginning at Noon EST. Speakers at the conference will offer guidance, challenge traditional DEI practices, and offer future research suggestions on how people can hold their leaders accountable to truly promote and support DEI within organizations.
Speakers include:
According to ANDIE Lab founder, Dr. Angela Hall, professor with the MSU School of Human Resources and Labor relations, organizations have been seeking innovative ways to increase DEI in the workplace over the past decade, with significant rise in interest since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic and the soar in social justice movements surrounding issues such as Black Lives Matters and Stop Anti-Asian and Pacific Islander Hate.
“Challenges persist in the DEI realm, including reactions against DEI initiatives, questions about the long-term effectiveness of conventional DEI training methods, and the fear that some actions to promote DEI may be superficial and performative, thus, not resulting in the creation of sustainable inclusion within organizations.”
