Nine Social Science graduates honored as 4.0 recipients at fall 2022 commencement

A total of nine College of Social Science students graduating this fall were recognized by the Michigan State University Board of Trustees this week for their scholastic achievements. 

These students each received the Board of Trustees Award and $1,000 from the university for having earned the highest scholastic average, a 4.0, in the final semester of their collegiate careers. 

“These awards represent the culmination of hard work and resilience demonstrated by our students during their years at MSU,” said MSU Interim President Teresa K. Woodruff, Ph.D. “The demonstrated excellence of each student will serve them well as they embark on their next career or educational journey. I am confident they will continue to make a positive impact across Michigan, our communities and the world.”

Below are listed the following graduates from the College of Social Science who earned a cumulative 4.0 GPA and the Board of Trustees Award:

Emily E. Bourgeois: Social Relations and Policy, James Madison College; History, Philosophy and Sociology of Science, Lyman Briggs College and a member of the Honors College. Bourgeois is from Berkley, Michigan, and attended Berkley High School.

Kristina A. Boynton:  Psychology, College of Social Science; Mathematics, College of Natural Science and a member of the Honors College. Boynton is from Dewitt, Michigan, and attended Dewitt High School.

Jayson P. Gillespie: Political Science, College of Social Science and a member of the Honors College. Gillespie is from Byron Center, Michigan, and attended Byron Center High School.

Jason J. Kazmierczak: Neuroscience, Lyman Briggs College; Psychology, College of Social Science and a member of the Honors College. Kazmierczak is from Macomb, Michigan, and attended Paul K. Cousino High School.

Jillian E. Lange: Psychology, College of Social Science. Lange is from Goodrich, Michigan, and attended Goodrich High School.

Malachi J. Noronha: Criminal Justice, College of Social Science. Noronha is from Flint, Michigan, and attended Flint Southwestern Classical Academy.

Eliza E. Orr: Psychology, College of Social Science. Orr is from Jackson, Michigan, and attended Western High School.

Leah K. Welch: History, College of Social Science. Welch is from East Lansing, Michigan, and attended Michigan Virtual Charter Academy.

Valentina Yaldo: Psychology, College of Social Science. Yaldo is from Coldwater, Michigan, and attended Coldwater Senior High School.
