Veda Hawkins

Academic Specialist, College of Social Science

Ms. Veda M. Hawkins is the Assistant Director of Student Affair for the College of Social Science. She received her B.S. from Western Michigan University in Family Consumer Science, with minors in Social Work and Criminal Justice. She went on to complete her M.A. from Western Michigan University in Family Life Education. Prior to joining Student Affairs, she worked as an Academic Specialist in the Center for Integrative Studies in Social Science. She has also worked as a career developer for Michigan Works and was an Administrator and Academic Advisor at the Women’s Resource Center, both at Lansing Community College. Other work experiences include non-profit organizations in the areas of outreach, mentoring, and homelessness. She is a proud 2001 TRIO alumni.
