Dr. Lisa M. Fine is a Professor of History and the Chair of History Department at Michigan State University. She received her Bachelor of Science degree from the New York State School for Industrial and Labor Relations at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York, and her M.A. and Ph.D. in History from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Her research focuses on Twentieth Century U.S., Gender and Women’s History, Labor and Working-Class History. She is the author of two monographs, including The Story of Reo Joe: Work, Kin, and Community in Autotown, USA, published by Temple University Press, which won several awards, including the Michigan Notable Book Award. She helped to start and served as a co-director for nine years at the Center for Gender in Global Context (GenCen) in International Studies and Programs, MSU. She is the recipient of 2016 Beverwyk Award.
