Antonio (Tony) Doblas-MadridAntonio (Tony) Doblas-Madrid is an Associate Professor of Economics at Michigan State University, where he joined the faculty in 2005. He obtained his Licenciatura from the Universitat de Barcelona (Spain) in 1999 and his PhD from the University of Minnesota in 2005. His research in the areas of asset price bubbles, international financial crises and currency exchange rates has been published in top economics and finance journals. He has taught macroeconomics at undergraduate, EMBA, and PhD levels, and coaches the MSU Fed Challenge team. From 2018 to 2020 he was co-director of the American Economic Association Summer Training Program, one of the major initiatives for diversity in the economics profession. Since 2019, he has served as Honorary Consul of Spain in Michigan.
