Here in the Office of Student Success, YOUR success is OUR Mission! We are here to provide support to students as they connect to MSU, establish and achieve their academic, personal, and professional goals, and discover their personal path to academic success. We are committed to providing services based on the principles of integrity, respect and collaboration, and supporting learning in a friendly and engaging environment. We have several resources available to support you on your educational journey!
The Office of Student Success empowers students to thrive by providing intentional support, meaningful connections, and opportunities that strengthen academic achievement, belonging, engagement, and personal growth. We partner with students to help them navigate college, overcome barriers, and develop the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to succeed.
Every student belongs. Every student is supported. Every student has the opportunity to thrive. We envision a college where students are connected to a community that values them, equipped with the resources and relationships they need to succeed, and empowered to reach their full academic, personal, and professional potential.
If you need additional support, send us an email at SSC.Helprooms@msu.edu.
We offer tutoring for students who are enrolled in Economics 201, 202, 301, and 302. These are not only for students who may be struggling, but these free resources are for all types of students who want extra support.
The College of Social Science Peer-Assisted Learning (PAL) program provides peer-led academic support for students in social science courses. PAL leaders facilitate study sessions, offer guidance on course material, and help students develop effective study strategies to improve their academic performance and confidence.
Our First-Year Seminars (FYS) help students make a successful transition to college by building the skills, connections, and confidence needed to thrive academically and personally. Through engaging discussions and practical activities, students explore topics such as time management, wellness, campus involvement, relationships, and career development.
