Dr. Vivian Aranda-Hughes, Assistant Professor in the School of Criminal Justice at Michigan State University (MSU), has earned the 2026 Teacher-Scholar Award from the MSU Office of the Provost.
The Teacher-Scholar award is reserved for faculty early in their careers who have shown dedication and skill in teaching. Dr. Aranda-Hughes has earned the admiration of her students and colleagues for her commitment to student success in and out of the classroom over the last two years she has been on the School of Criminal Justice faculty.
Upon receiving the award, Dr. Aranda-Hughes said “Receiving MSU's Teacher-Scholar award is especially meaningful because it reflects the work I care about most—supporting students and learning alongside them. I have been incredibly fortunate to have mentors who invested in me, and I see this as an opportunity to carry that forward by creating a similarly supportive and engaging environment for my students.”
