Molly McCoy (‘90) and her husband Greg Cummings recently partnered with the Michigan State University Women’s Leadership Institute (WLI) to establish a scholarship geared toward members of the WLI Student Cohort, with applications opening this fall. Scholarships will be awarded to students with demonstrated financial need, helping them ensure cost is not a barrier to participating in the transformational leadership experiences offered by joining the WLI.
“We are deeply grateful to Molly McCoy and her family for their generous investment in our students,” WLI Director Amanda Guinot Talbot commented. “Their commitment to expanding opportunities for students with financial need reflects the very heart of the Women's Leadership Institute. Because of their generosity, more students will have the opportunity to grow as leaders and make a meaningful impact in their communities.”
McCoy graduated from Michigan State with a degree in business-human resources and has built up an extensive background in human resources. She is the founder of hrQ, a company dedicated to connecting organizations with HR talent on a national scale. She and her husband are now the proud owners of the Horton Bay General Store, a Northern Michigan establishment that has been in existence since 1876.
McCoy’s own beliefs on leadership and innovation are closely aligned with the WLI’s mission of igniting women leaders. She is passionate about using her knowledge to mentor young HR and business professionals, sharing best practices and encouraging new ideas that drive the industry forward. She consistently advocates for fostering inclusive work environments and a vibrant culture where ideas and individuals can flourish.
