The undergraduate major in Interdisciplinary Studies in Social Science (IDS) recognizes that many students want to explore multiple social science perspectives rather than limiting their studies to the specialization of a single department or school. These students seek a well-rounded program that provides a broad exposure to the social sciences as it prepares them for careers and graduate studies.

IDS students can take courses in a variety of social science disciplines including anthropology, criminal justice, economics, geography, history, political science, psychology, and sociology. As they explore areas of interest, students develop critical thinking and effective communication skills that prepare them to excel in the workplace and graduate school.
